Literature Text

My siren is so heavy
Pulls me down to watch me drown
She said she built a levy
Only just to tear it down

I should have seen it coming
Should have seen that evil gaze
The waters slowly rising
Each second seems like days

She dragged me through her waters
Into her abyss
Should I even bother?
Lost within her kiss

Deeper into nothing
Filling up each lung
Leaves me ever wanting
A final song is sung

She told me of betrayal
She showed me no self worth
Love destined to fail
Stripped me of my mirth

She told me of desire
Showed me how she sinned
She told she's a liar
She tossed me to the wind

She dragged me through her waters
Into her abyss
Should I even bother?
Lost within her kiss

Deeper into nothing
Filling up each lung
Leaves me ever wanting
A final song is sung

So sick of all the cheating
So tired of the crimes
Yet I'm the one on trial
I'm sick of all the times

I took on every beating
Ignoring every sign
Stuck with my denial
I made you so divine

But excuses are so useless when sins have filled the well
So heavy with your flaws I'm stuck inside my hell
....

Good stuff! I know it's the metaphors used, but it makes me think of a sailor's shanty. So many songs comparing women to aspects of water.
